“An epic story of redemption, discovery and cool speculative sci-fi.”—USA Today

“If you loved The Martian, you’ll go crazy for Weir’s latest.”—The Washington Post

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission—and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish.

Except that right now, he doesn’t know that. He can’t even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.

All he knows is that he’s been asleep for a very, very long time. And he’s just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it’s up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery—and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species.

And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he’s got to do it all alone.

Or does he?

An irresistible interstellar adventure as only Andy Weir could deliver, Project Hail Mary is a tale of discovery, speculation, and survival to rival The Martian—while taking us to places it never dreamed of going.

The entirety of the book is a great read. Assumed the book would climax at the discovery of eridians but it just got better.

There’s a whole Lotta science and if science isn’t your thing, just read it and don’t worry about being tested on it later. The science is there, but the story is bigger than that. It’s very moving. Fascinating I recommend it highly.

I enjoyed the first person narrative like in The Martian. Unlike other reviewers, I enjoyed and was enlightened by the physics, biology and technical explanations that broadened my understanding of gravity and pendulums to cite a few. Never too old, or young, to learn stuff.

Science fiction in its truest sense. A tale of fiction embedded with science.

This book was so amazing! It kept me engaged and the constant switching between present and past kept me on the edge of my seat. I love sci fi books. These alien books and space travel have always held a special place in my heart because of the fact I love space. This book embodies my passion. And Rocky! Rocky was so funny. My heart jumped out of my chest when he almost died. Well I could talk about this book for ages but I’ll keep it a bit shortened. AMAZING 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.
