Born Marie Françoise-Therese Martin, Saint Therese of Lisieux in her twenty-four short years, through her simple and practical approach to spiritual life, left one of the most lasting impressions upon the Catholic world. In the view of Pope Saint Pius X, she was the greatest saint of modern times, and along with Saint Francis of Assisi, remains to this day as one of the popular saints in the history of the church.
