Description

With “an unforgettable cast of characters” (W.E.B. Griffin) and nonstop action, Mike Maden’s Drone kicks off an explosive thriller series exploring the hard realities of drone warfare.

Troy Pearce is the CEO of Pearce Systems, a private security firm specializing in drone technologies. A former CIA SOG operative, Pearce used his intelligence and combat skills to hunt down America’s enemies—until he opted out, having seen too many friends sacrificed for political expediency. Now Pearce and his team choose which battles they will take on.

Pearce is done with the United States government for good, until a pair of drug cartel hit men assault a group of American students on American soil. New U.S. president Margaret Myers secretly authorizes Pearce Systems to locate and destroy the killers wherever they are. Now Pearce and his team are in a showdown with the hidden powers behind the El Paso attack—unleashing a host of unexpected repercussions.

Took a little bit to really get into the plot but very well written and a riveting read.

Intensely written and I truly was kept guessing at every different direction that the story went. Pearce is a great character but I do hope President Myers comes back

Wish more of the politicians, including a potential woman candidate we all know so well, on the Hill, thought like the fictitious woman POTUS in the book. The real, but largely silent, majority of taxpayers AGREE with the politics in this well written account, and in my opinion, the book is more about expressing those politics, than it is about the plausible story line, as a high-tech, international thriller.

Good spy thriller with several twists and turns, plus a look into the world of drones and drone warfare that is very much real time technology

Very accurate and telling events that Americans should know about. I know this book is listed as "fiction", but don't you believe it. In other words, believe it. A great read.

Avoid it. Once you get past a poorly crafted plot, incomplete characters and Tea Party ravings you realize you've wasted your time. Ish.
  • Fabulous and riveting fast read

This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. Fast, riveting, always coming up with a different plot twist. I highly recommend this for people who enjoy reading international intrigue.

Poorly written, incoherent and weak on every level. Ultimate waste of money, you better get yourself 3 cups of coffee. Seriously.

Possibly one of the most offensive books I have ever read. The authors views on abrogation of civil liberties and constitutional rights border on criminal. A 21st century Mein Kampf . Every single character in this pile of trash and propaganda, as well as anyone who agrees with it, should be incarcerated in a supermax prison for life...and, as the author suggests, without trial or due process.
