Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The gripping new Jack Reacher thriller from the bestselling authors Lee Child and Andrew Child

Reacher had no idea where he was. No idea how he had gotten there. But someone must have brought him. And shackled him. And whoever had done those things was going to rue the day. That was for damn sure.

Jack Reacher wakes up alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a makeshift bed. His right arm has suffered some major damage. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there.

The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed.

His captors assume Reacher was the driver’s accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk.

A plan that will backfire spectacularly . . .

I am a huge Lee Child fan, read them all. However, I would say this is not only the worst Lee Child book I’ve ever read, it may be the worst book in general I have ever read. When everything is about a character said this and a character said that over and over and over with very little plot or intrigue especially for a Reacher read, just too mundane and boring. I had to speed read through this thing just to justify the cost of the book, otherwise I would’ve never finished it. Where do I ask for a return on my purchase.. :(
  • An odd feel

Disjointed from the start. This one did not have that same Reacher “feel” which is so expected and loved.

Parts read well, others mailing it in. I don’t think Junior adds anything to this series.
  • Pathetic

Lee Child needs to get back to writing his novels. I have read every Reacher novel. This book is a waste of time and money.

I believe I’ve read all the Reacher books. This one seemed somewhat devoid of Reacher to me. Just ho-hum. But maybe it’s me.

Sad to say that this is the first Reacher book that I have ever been disappointed in. Not sure how much Lee Child is still writing versus his son doing the writing, but several times I felt the writing was lazy, predictable, or just plain inaccurate. Sad to say that I might be done with reading the Reacher books. I’ve been a big fan since day one of Lee Child and this series, but, like I said, pretty disappointed in this effort.
  • This doesn’t feel like Reacher.

Not the best Reacher book. The dialogue is not nearly as crisp as others by LC himself. The son needs more training and practice.
  • In too Deep.

This book was a little different than the others. A little more people invoked and a longer time to solve. It did not draw me in like the others . A crooked FBI under come agent, greed, hackers, gold. Was drawn out. Not sure what I want to say here.
  • Tough to follow

I feel like this started half way into the story. I get that Reacher always runs into something - but this story line and characters didn’t make a lot of sense until 2/3 thru the book. Not my fav at all.
