I read this in 2 days and it was incredible. Gripping and tense with a great mystery. This book is a partial Bosch/partial Lincoln Lawyer novel and they make a great yin and yang team. Of course, there is a typical cadence with a Lincoln Lawyer novel and that’s here, but with Bosch in the novel it gave it a breath of fresh air going from 3rd person with Bosch to 1st person when it was Haller’s POV. Michael Connelly is one of my favorite authors and he’s certainly my favorite in the mystery, procedural genre.

Just keep your politics out of your books. We don’t want to know.

Why do authors always have to put their political views in full display? King does it Woods does it now Connelly. Will be passing on all future Michael Connelly books. Garbage. Would’ve given it zero stars but I couldn’t.

Great story and outcome!

I was kept on my toes the moment I picked up the book! I loved how the step brothers finally came together to work a case! Their relationship is so unique coming from different perspectives and beliefs- I never thought their teaming up would or could ever happen! There were constant letdowns throughout the narrative that was frustrating to me! And yet they kept trying new ways of resolving problems one after another! I hope to see more of them teaming up on future cases! I enjoyed the read!

Loved this book. A few months ago someone told me about a series on Netflix called Lincoln Lawyer. I finished watching season one and am anxiously waiting to watch season two. I’ve read several Michael Connelly books and have a soft spot for Harry Bosch but had never read one of the Lincoln Lawyer series. I started reading and saw the name Mickey Haller and thought hmmmm so this is where this came from? I’ll be reading all the books from The Lincoln Lawyer series.

Another great book. Was so good to see all of Michael Connelly’s characters in one book. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.
